The IOA-Sponsored Mission Inn Championship Is Next on the “Road to the LPGA”

LONGWOOD, Fla. – Oct 19, 2020 – The inaugural Mission Inn Resort & Club Championship is quickly approaching, and the team at Insurance Office of America (IOA) — the full-service insurance agency presenting the newly added Symetra Tour event — is eager for the action to start.

“This inaugural Symetra Tour event is just so new and exciting for us at IOA, players on the tour, and the team at Mission Inn Resort & Club,” said IOA Co-founder John Ritenour.

Over 20 NCAA Championships and a number of PGA qualifying schools have taken place at Mission Inn Resort & Club. Yet, neither of the resort’s two courses have ever hosted an LPGA event until the 2020 competitive season. Players will compete for a $125,000 purse on the resort’s El Campeón course from Oct. 15-17 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

“We look forward to providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for the golfers, their families and golf fans traveling to Lake County,” said Jason Siegel, President & CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.

IOA is a known Symetra Tour event sponsor that has been affiliated with the “Road to the LPGA” through tournaments such as the IOA Invitational, IOA Championship, and IOA Classic. As a result of COVID-19, however, the 2020 IOA Invitational was postponed until the following competitive season.

“The Mission Inn Championship came to us at just the right time,” continued John Ritenour. “We’re always in search of ways to create more opportunities for aspiring LPGA players, but this year has made everyone at IOA even more eager to get involved.”
